Robert Englund makes his Stranger Things debut in disturbing new season 4 image and trailer

There is a lot to look forward to in the upcoming fourth season of Stranger Things, including the looming arrival of horror icon Robert Englund!

Ahead of the show’s fourth season, Netflix revealed that the Nightmare on Elm Street icon would be making his way to Hawkins in a role that has been shrouded in mystery. The casting move is one that has gotten Horror fans even more excited for the highly-anticipated fourth season and could not have been a better tribute to the decade that the season will set place in.

While the details regarding how Englund’s character will factor into this season remain unclear, as expected, Netflix has gifted fans with a chilling first look at his new character both in the form of an eery new image and a brief cameo in the newly released Stranger Things season 4 trailer! 

Who is Robert Englund playing in Stranger Things season 4?

In the upcoming fourth season, Robert Englund will take on the role of Victor Creel, a new character who seems poised to play a major role in the season.

Creel House has been referenced heavily leading up to the season including in a teaser that hinted that the house could be a gateway to the Upside Down. Given Englund will be playing Victor Creel, it will be curious to see how his character plays into the season.

Considering his character is described as “a disturbed and intimidating man who is imprisoned in a psychiatric hospital for a gruesome murder in the 1950s,” we’re anticipating that he’ll be among the season’s villainous characters but could he up being an unexpected ally to the Hawkins crew?

After making a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it style appearance in the Stranger Things season 4 trailer, Robert Englund takes center stage in a new still from the season that is sure to send chills down your spine.

In the new image, viewers get their first glimpse of Englund’s character Victor Creel whose facial scars seem to hint at the character having gone through some sort of traumatic experience. Given what we know about the character — i.e. the fact that he’s been imprisoned in a psychiatric hospital for a gruesome murder — it’s going to be interesting to see how he plays into the upcoming season and what caused the scarring around his eyes.
