Netflix’s Bridgerton prequel series casts India Amarteifio as Queen Charlotte

Dearest readers, we have received great news regarding the Bridgerton prequel series. It has been reported that the upcoming limited series has cast its Queen Charlotte and its newcomer India Amarteifio!

The Bridgerton prequel series is still untitled, but it will be about the origins of the historical figure. Shonda Rhimes sits back in the showrunner seat and is also the main writer for the series. She, along with her longtime business partner Betsy Beers, is signed on as executive producer. In addition, Bridgerton director Tom Verica steps up as the director for the new period drama. You might know him as Sam Keating in the Shondaland production How to Get Away with Murder.

The story will center around a young Queen Charlotte and her rise to prominence and power. It will also focus on her love life and marriage to King George. Viewers have gotten to know Queen Charlotte in the past two seasons of Bridgerton, but no one knows how she became the iconic character she is. The Bridgerton prequel series will provide us with her backstory and even the backstories of other fan-favorite characters from Bridgerton.

As reported by Variety, India Amarteifio joins the cast as the young Queen Charlotte. She’s fairly new to the entertainment industry and is best known for her roles in Sex Education, Line of Duty, Doctor Who, and The Tunnel. Variety also reported that the actresses who played Queen Charlotte, Lady Danbury, and Lady Violet Bridgerton in Bridgerton, will reprise their roles in the prequel series.
