Following the release of Bridgerton season 2, fans are wondering whether they’ll see English actress Simone Ashley on their screens in later seasons of the Netflix original series. After all, season 1 lead Phoebe Dynevor reprised her role of Daphne Bridgerton in the latest season, making Ashley’s return fairly likely. However, with Rege-Jean Page’s absence in season 2, there’s also a fair chance we may not see Ashley at all.

Can we expect to see Simone Ashley in Bridgerton season 3? Or, was this season the last we will ever see of Lady Kate Sharma? Read on to learn everything we know so far.

Is Simone Ashley returning in Bridgerton season 3?

On March 30,Deadline reported that Simone Ashley confirmed that she will be back in Bridgerton season 3 as Kate. “Kate and Anthony are just getting started,” Ashley shared. The series will welcome Jess Brownell as the new showrunner for season 3, and it’s going to be interesting to see what’s in store for the Viscount and Viscountess.

Ashley also told Deadline more about her hopes for Kate in season 3:

"“I’d like to see Kate just let go a bit more and play more in Season 3 and kind of swim in that circle of love together. I think they both deserve it. … She’s in charge of the household now and she’s got big boots to put on. I think she can do it. I want to keep that softness and vulnerability to Kate, for sure, and she can share that with Anthony. I’m just excited for her to have a home and to have a family. I’m excited to see her grow. I think I’d like to see Kate being much braver and less headstrong and more heart strong”"

Previously, there had been no official news regarding Simone Ashley’s appearance in season 3, but in an interview with The Sunday Times Style, the actress hinted that we will, in fact, be able to see her once again.

“I was a very good student. I didn’t take anything,” Ashley stated when asked about which Bridgerton memorabilia she kept from set. “Maybe [in] season 3 I’ll keep something.”

Although we cannot say for certain just yet in what capacity Ashley will reprise her role, her official confirmation, indeed, seems like a good sign.

Most likely, Ashley’s role in the upcoming third season won’t be as essential as the second, especially because the new season will switch its focus to another Bridgerton such as Benedict or Eloise. But no matter what capacity we see her in, we know we’re going to enjoy seeing her nonetheless.

Perhaps we’ll see Lady Kate Sharma with child in season 3. Or, maybe we’ll see her be a role model to Eloise. We’ll have to wait to find out! Until then, catch Simone Ashley in Bridgerton season 2 streaming right now only on Netflix.
