Are you ready to watch the new anime titled Thermae Romae Novae on Netflix? The first season is coming to the streamer on Monday, March 28. So mark your calendars for one of the best anime releases of the year!

Thermae Romae Novae is an anime adaptation of the popular manga series by Mari Yamazaki. Tetsuya Tatamitani directed the original series from scripts written by Yûichirô Momose. The Japanese animation studio NAZ produced it. Manga creator Yamazaki signed on to the anime as the series composer.

Kenjirô Tsuda voices the main character, Lucius Modestus. He’s a very popular voice actor in Japan. He’s voiced some of the best anime characters like Kento Nanami in Jujutsu Kaisen, Overhaul in My Hero Academia, Sikorsky in Baki, Johnny Bolt in Super Crooks and Atomic Samurai in One Punch Man.

The rest of the voice cast includes Asami Seto, Chikahiro Kobayashi, Junya Enoki, Sanae Kobayashi, Satoshi Hino, Shūichi Ikeda, Takahiro Sakurai, Tsutomu Isobe and Yoshimasa Hosoya. The release date for Thermae Romae Novae is right around the corner, so before it drops on the streamer, it’s important that you know what to expect.

Here’s the official synopsis via Netflix:

"The Roman Empire stood at the summit of the ancient world. For the Romans who brought glory to their nation, thermae (baths) were an essential part of their lives. Lucius follows in the footsteps of his father and grandfather to become a bathhouse designer. However, when he is fired for his design ideas being deemed too stale, Lucius’s future as a bathhouse designer is in doubt.One day, he is sucked into a large drain at the public baths and ends up flowing down a rapid to…none other than a Japanese bathhouse! Unaware that he has traveled through time, Lucius is moved by Japanese bathhouse culture, including the wall murals and fruit milk drinks. He brings these items that enhance the bathing experience back to ancient Rome and becomes a popular bathhouse designer."

The anime is rated TV-MA, meaning it may not be suitable for ages 17 and under. The show is for mature audiences only. One of the main reasons it’s rated TV-MA is because it has a lot of nudity. There are violent scenes, profanity, some sexual content and bloody content. We advise you to watch this show when no kids are around.
