When Bridgerton season 1 arrived in 2020, no one was prepared for the show’s ingenious instrumental covers of some of today’s biggest hits performed by string quartets.

Across the first season, the series delighted audiences with covers of hits such as Billie Eilish’s “Bad Guy,” Ariana Grande’s “Thank U, Next,” and Shawn Mendes’ “In My Blood,” played by string quartets at spectacular balls in place of classic instrumentals period dramas tend to turn to for their soundtracks.

Simple as it might seem to some, the move drummed up a lot of buzz among viewers who excitedly watched along trying to identify the instrumental covers featured as part of the season’s soundtrack.

Following the first season, fans have been anxiously waiting to see what tracks would comprise the Bridgerton season 2 soundtrack and the Shondaland team outdid themselves when curating this season’s soundtrack!

“Material Girl” by Madonna, covered by Kris Bowers

“Diamonds” by Rihanna, covered by Hannah V and Joe Rodwell

Bridgerton season 2 episode 4 songs

“Dancing on My Own” by Robyn, covered by Vitamin String Quartet (“Dancing on My Own” has also famously been covered by artist Calum Scott)

Bridgerton season 2 episode 5 songs

“You Oughta Know” by Alanis Morissette, covered by Duomo

Bridgerton season 2 episode 6 songs

“Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham,” covered by Kris Bowers

“Sign of the Times” by Harry Styles, covered by Steve Horner

“What About Us” by P!nk, covered by Duomo

Bridgerton season 2 episode 7 songs

“How Deep Is Your Love” by Calvin Harris and Disciples, covered by Kiris

Bridgerton season 2 episode 8 songs

“Wrecking Ball” Miley Cyrus, covered by Midnight String Quartet

The ten tracks are creatively incorporated throughout season 2’s eight episodes with many of this season’s covers playing during some of the season’s grandest balls. Take for example how in episode 4 an instrumental version of “Dancing on My Own” plays as Anthony and Kate partake in a steamy first dance together during a ball.

After season 1’s amazing soundtrack, the bar was high for season 2 but the creative team managed to curate an amazing Bridgerton season 2 soundtrack which should arrive soon on Spotify!

Bridgerton season 2 is streaming now on Netflix.
