Degrassi: The Next Generation is a Canadian teen series created by Yan Moore and Linda Schuyler. It is the fourth series in the Degrassi franchise and centers around a new group of students at the fictional Degrassi Community School. The young teens would deal with various issues like eating disorders, sex, teen pregnancy, homosexuality, racism, mental disorders and many other issues.

The teen series put many actors and actresses on the map and launched their acting careers. Some of the cast members that you may be familiar with are Aubrey Graham (Drake), 90210‘s Shenae Grimes, Vampire Diaries‘ Nina Dobrev, Ginny and Georgia‘s Raymond Ablack and many others.

It’s honestly one of the best teen series to ever be made. There are so many teen series that have tried to emulate the greatness that is Degrassi but have always come up short. Is Degrassi: The Next Generation on Netflix?

Unfortunately, our favorite streamer does not carry the teen series. However, it does carry the fifth series in the franchise Degrassi: Next Class. Degrassi: Next Class has four seasons consisting of 10 episodes each, so you have plenty to binge on.

Some other alternatives currently streaming on Netflix are Ginny and Georgia, Grand Army, Trinkets and Never Have I Ever.

Where to stream Degrassi: The Next Generation

You will have to head on over to HBO Max to watch the teen series. Keep in mind that a subscription is required to gain access to all fourteen seasons on the platform. There will also be a Degrassi reboot coming to HBO Max in 2023. So that’s something to look forward to.

It’s unknown if the other series in the Degrassi franchise will make an appearance on the streamer in the future. But never say never, right?
