Everyone knows Marilyn Monroe. She’s one of the most popular sex symbols of the ’50s and early ’60s. But she was so much more than the image she portrayed. She was a talented actress who worked hard at her craft. She also showed young women that the sky’s the limit regardless of their background. Sadly, her life was cut short when she passed away from an overdose in 1962. This April, Netflix will be dropping The Mystery of Marilyn Monroe: The Untold Tapes, a documentary exploring the mystery surrounding Marilyn’s untimely and tragic death.

The documentary was produced by Chris Smith and directed by Emma Cooper. Chris Smith’s production company, Library Films, is behind the movie. Library Films has produced other popular Netflix documentaries such as Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness and Fyre: The Greatest Party That Never Happened.
