If there’s one thing you need to know about Noomi Rapace it’s that she loves to star in films that push boundaries. From The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series to the A24 film Lamb, it’s always worth paying attention when a new movie starring Rapace rolls out. This Friday, you can catch the talented 42-year-old actress in the Netflix Original film Black Crab.
This Swedish thriller is set in a post-apocalyptic world where six soldiers must set out on a dangerous trek to transport a mysterious package across a frozen archipelago without knowing who they can trust.
Black Crab is based on the novel of the same name by Jerker Virdborg and directed by Adam Berg. Besides Rapace, the film also stars Jakob Oftebro, Erik Enge, Dar Salim, Ardalan Esmaili, Aliette Opheim and David Dencik.
What is Black Crab about?
Set in a dismal, dark and war-torn world, six soldiers must embark across a frozen landscape to transport a mysterious package that could end the war. As they enter hostile enemy territory during their journey, they’ll have to consider just how far they’re willing to go to survive and who, if anyone, can be trusted. For speed skater turned soldier Caroline Edh (Rapace), the mission is far more personal, and her stake in its completion is much different than it is for the others.
