Bridgerton season 2 premieres on Netflix on March 25, and fans around the world are counting down the days until the romantic drama series makes its highly anticipated comeback.

The series based on the novels by Julia Quinn captivated Netflix fans everywhere when it premiered in December 2020. Ever since, we have all be waiting for the grand return of Bridgerton and the second edition of the period drama that centers on Anthony Bridgerton.

Obviously, there are so many questions on fans’ minds going into the second season. One of the biggest revolves around the cast and whether a certain handsome leading man will reprise his role in season 2 after making an announcement that he wouldn’t.

There are some big changes in store for the Bridgerton season 2 cast. Between new characters and returning favorites, here’s what we know about who’s in and who’s out.

Who’s leaving Bridgerton?

Of course, as fans were sad to hear, Regé-Jean Page announced his departure from the show as Simon Basset. The breakout out star played the handsome Duke courting Daphne Bridgerton in the first season.

There’s always a chance Page could reprise his role as the Duke in future seasons, but his character’s story has been completed and wasn’t intended for more than one season. However, fans wondering about Phoebe Dynevor‘s future on the series don’t have to worry.

Bridgerton fans might also be worried about Colin Bridgerton appearing in season 2 given the previous season’s ending, but a better question will be whether Ruby Barker will be back as Marina Thompson and Sabrina Bartlett will return as Siena Rosso.

Who’s new in Bridgerton season 2?

The second season welcomes multiple new faces who stir the pot and shake things up for the viscount as he looks for love. Particularly, Simone Ashley joins the cast as Kate Sharma, a new love interest for Anthony.

Also, Charithra Chandran joins the cast as Kate’s younger sister Edwina, as well as Shelley Conn as their mother Mary Sharma. Rupert Evans will also appear in an episode as Edmund Bridgerton, the previous viscount and patriarch of the titular family.

Robert Young appears in Bridgerton season 2 as Jack, who happens to be a character that wasn’t in any of the books. Calam Lynch will appear in the second season as a printing assistant named Theo. Who else can’t wait to meet all of these new characters?

Who’s back for Bridgerton season 2?

As previously mentioned, Phoebe Dynevor will be back for appearances as Daphne in season 2, even though her major storyline wrapped in season 1. Other characters from the first season will also see their roles reduced, while others will remain the same.

Here’s the confirmed Bridgerton season 2 cast list so far:
