Will there be a season 2 of Kotaro Lives Alone?

Binge watching Kotaro Lives Alone this weekend had to be one of the best things we’ve ever done all year.

Without a doubt, many anime fans definitely feel the same way as they, too, were entranced by this hilarious yet heartwarming Netflix series and have even gone on to watch it a couple more times. All that’s left is for you to tune in as well so that you can experience this amazing anime!

Upon tuning in, if you by any chance finish this series in one sitting just like we did, then you’re probably eagerly waiting for a second season, especially because there are still tons of questions that have to be answered such as the specifics of Kotaro’s father’s whereabouts and the details of who Kotaro’s mother is. Season 1 may not be the key to learning more about our feudal-Japan-loving toddler, but there’s a good chance season 2 will cover these topics and so much more. That is, if we receive a season 2.

Kotaro Lives Alone season 2 updates

Unfortunately, at this time, it doesn’t seem like Kotaro Lives Alone has a second season on the way, considering the fact that the first season’s final episode seemed more like a series finale than a season finale. What’s more, the story of Kotaro Sato seems to have come full circle in that he has finally realized that his true strength had little to do with living by himself.

In stating all this, a season 2 for this anime could end up being a bit redundant. Even still, we are fairly confident that a second season would not run into this problem being that there’s still so much story left to cover be it canonically or not.

We could see Kotaro learn even more important life lessons, or we could see him make even more new friends. Perhaps we could learn more about Shin Karino’s career and learn if he’ll ever make it big. Maybe we’ll get to see Mizuki down the road. The possibilities are endless, but only time will tell if we’ll ever see any of this.
