Is Buffy the Vampire Slayer streaming on Netflix?

In honor of Buffy the Vampire Slayer‘s 25th anniversary, it was announced that the iconic supernatural drama would be returning to cable syndication later this year! According to IndieWire, the series will return to cable on October 1 as part of the network’s “lineup of empowering content.”
Buffy is a special show that holds a place in many fans’ hearts because of its protagonist Buffy Summers, a vampire slayer who saved her town of Sunnyvale, and the world, on more than one occasion. It’s the series that made Sarah Michelle Gellar a household name and highlighted the talents of many other actors, such as David Boreanaz, Charisma Carpenter, James Marsden, Seth Green, Anthony Stewart Head and Alyson Hannigan.
Decades after its release, Buffy the Vampire Slayer remains an iconic series and a genuine classic that thousands of people revisit year after year. There are many shows that wouldn’t even exist if it weren’t for this show setting a precedent for sci-fi and supernatural dramas.
Given that Buffy is a hot topic today especially because of the momentous anniversary, many are wondering if the series is available to watch on Netflix.
Is Buffy the Vampire Slayer on Netflix?
No. Buffy is not currently streaming on Netflix, nor is its spin-off series Angel. As the show was created by 20th Century Television and aired on The WB/UPN, Netflix does not have the license to stream the series.
Where to stream Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Currently, you can only stream Buffy on Hulu or through Prime Video. You will need a subscription for each service to watch. Similarly, Angel is also available on each service, plus you can watch Angel for free (with ads) via the Roku Channel.
Both shows are also available to purchase through digital retailers like Amazon, Vudu and Apple. You can buy individual episodes or complete seasons.
