Skins is currently streaming on Netflix and people have been wondering what the film is about. You can stop your wondering because we shared the official synopsis and more below.

Pieles or internationally known as Skins, is a 2017 Spanish drama film that was written and directed by Eduardo Casanova. You might know Casanova from the popular Spanish sitcom Aída. The cast includes some well-known actors like Macarena Gómez, Ana Polvorosa, Carolina Bang, Jon Kortajarena, Candela Peña, Secun de la Rosa, and Carmen Machi.

Everything you’ll possibly want to know about the drama movie is right here. So keep reading because we’ve included the synopsis and age rating.

Skins synopsis

The story follows several characters who have deformities or are disfigured, trying to make it in a society that outcasts the people who are different. The characters force themselves to hide and stay under the radar in fear of others’ judgment about the way they look. While at the same time fighting to find their place in society.

The film asks viewers to rethink and modify their perceptions of what beauty means. It sheds light on an important topic that isn’t talked about enough, in my opinion. It’s not for everyone, but I still recommend giving it a watch because of the meaning behind the film.

Skins age rating and parents guide

The drama film is rated TV-MA, meaning that the content is for mature audiences only. The material shown and/or used in the movie is severe sex and nudity, mild violence and gore, mild alcohol, drugs, and smoking, and severe inappropriate language. Also, there are some frightening and intense scenes that kids should not be seeing. Skins is a movie you would save for the end of the day when the kids are tucked in and ready for bed.

We would include the official trailer, but it’s not appropriate for all ages. However, you can always check out the trailer on YouTube.
