Viewers will finally get to see the comedy film Metal Lords soon. The film was scheduled to be released in 2021 but was pushed back to 2022. Now the official release date has been announced, and we’re so excited to share all the juicy details about the upcoming Netflix movie.

Game of Thrones duo David Benioff and D. B. Weiss have teamed up once again to produce Metal Lords for Netflix. This film is a part of their multi-year overall film and TV deal with the streamer signed in 2019. D.B. Weiss wrote the script with Peter Sollett set as the director. The production company behind the film is Bighead Littlehead which also produced Game of Thrones and other upcoming Netflix projects.

Metal Lords release date

According to EW, the film is slated to arrive on Netflix on Friday, April 8, 2022. As always, you can expect it to drop on the streamer at 12:00 a.m. PT/3:00 a.m. ET on its release date. It’ll be 2:00 a.m. CT if you live in the Midwest. Now, all there is left to do is mark your calendars and set your timers.

Elisha Henig, Isis Hainsworth, and Oakes Fegley were initially set to play the leading roles when casting was taking place. However, Henig and Fegley did not end up getting the parts, and instead, the main leads went to Jaeden Martell and Adrian Greensmith. Hainsworth ended up being cast as well.

Metal Lords synopsis

"Two kids start a metal band in a high school where exactly two kids care about metal. They can’t find a bassist, but there is this one girl who plays the cello. They need to work together if they’re going to win the Battle of the Bands."

Metal Lords age rating and parents guide

The comedy film is rated R, meaning it may be inappropriate for ages 17 and under. It contains strong language throughout, sexual references, nudity, and drug and alcohol use. If you choose to allow your kids to watch the teen movie, we recommend watching it with them.
