Best woman characters in Outer Banks: Cleo

Cleo is a new character in the teen series, and she instantly captured my attention. From her top-notch knife skills to her comedic one-liners, she quickly became one of my favorite characters.

She’s confident, fearless, and a go-getter. Not only is she physically strong, but also intelligent. Cleo is a quick thinker and can easily get herself out of tricky situations. We’re introduced to her as a teenage girl from Nassau, Bahamas, who’s trying to make a living by any means necessary. She eventually befriends the Pogues and helps them with their goal of trying to get the cross. But she is still her own person.

Cleo’s main goal is to survive at the end of the day, and gaining friends along the way was just a plus. Not much is known about her, but what I’ve seen so far, I’ve enjoyed. Hopefully, Cleo gets more backstory and character development in season 3 now that she’s officially a Pogue.

Best woman characters in Outer Banks: Carla Limbrey

Carla Limbrey is a new antagonist in season 2, but I can’t help but respect her in a certain aspect. She has a goal and will stop at nothing to achieve it. In season 2, she only cares about opening the Cross of Santo Domingo. But her reasoning is understandable. She has an illness and will soon die if she doesn’t retrieve a mythical garment that is supposedly inside the Cross of Santo Domingo. Unfortunately, this puts her at odds with the Pogues, making her an unlikeable character to many people.

I wouldn’t say she’s one of my favorite characters because she’s very entitled, and her intense determination to find the garment includes murdering people who get in her way. But, I like that even though she has a physical weakness, she doesn’t let that stop her from achieving her goal. With how things ended in season 2, we can expect to see more of Limbrey in the third season.

Best woman characters in Outer Banks: Sheriff Peterkin

At the beginning of the teen series, it was hard to tell if Sheriff Peterkin was good or bad. But, she did eventually prove to be a good person and only wanted to do the right thing. She is one of the few adults who was actually on John B’s side and constantly put her career on the line to save him. Sadly, her constant involvement in John B’s life put her in the crossfire and ultimately got her killed. Still, Sheriff Peterkin was one of the best woman characters in the show and will be remembered as such.
