Best woman characters in Outer Banks: Kiara Carrera

Technically, Kiara is a Kook like Sarah but loathes being one. She has her own opinions and isn’t afraid to let people know how she feels. We see this when she goes against her parent’s wishes to hang out with the Pogues. Kiara has her own goals, such as traveling the world and helping save the planet. And it doesn’t seem like any of the male characters can sway her.

She’s loyal and many times acts as a voice of reason for her group of friends. When the Pogues get into challenging situations, she’s the first person to come up with a solution. Also, I like that Kiara is not perfect. She made several mistakes in season 2, but that’s what humanizes and makes her relatable to audiences. It helps with her character development. I have no idea what’s in store for Kiara in season 3, but I’m excited nonetheless.

Outer Banks season 2 Julia Antonelli Wheezie Cameron

Best woman characters in Outer Banks: Wheezie Cameron

Although Wheezie doesn’t get much screentime, fans have grown to love the character. She became the quiet hero of the teen series. Yes, she sold her sister out before, but that could have something to do with the fact that she’s a 13-year-old girl. This is typical behavior of younger siblings. We also have to remember that Sarah was Ward’s favorite child for the longest and Wheezie could’ve been jealous. However, in season 2, Wheezie matured and helped Sarah out in many situations.

At Wheezie’s core, she’s caring, loyal, and a huge help to the Pogues. But I will say the writers dropped the ball on not giving her a backstory and a personal story arc. The only time we see her on-screen is when Sarah needs help. Wheezie exists as a support for another character. However, I recognize that Wheezie is a supporting character, so it’s expected that she won’t be involved in every scene and a huge part of the story. Still, I would like to see more of her. She’s captured my attention, and I will be rooting for her to the very end.
