Stranger Things season 4 is not coming to Netflix in March 2022

There’s no ifs, ands, or buts about it: Stranger Things season 4 is the most anticipated Netflix new release of 2022… and maybe of all time. Fans have been waiting for new episodes of Stranger Things since summer 2019, but season 4 is finally on its way.

In spite of the lengthy drought, there has been no lack in updates about Stranger Things season 4. Netflix has given fans first looks at the new season in the form of teasers and posters, as well as a full Stranger Things Day celebration that revealed season 4 would arrive in summer 2022.

Finally, the streamer clued the world in on the most pressing Stranger Things question last month with the formal announcement of the season 4 release date. On top of putting season 4 on the calendar at long last, Netflix renewed the series for a fifth and final season.

Unfortunately, fans will have to wait a little bit longer for Stranger Things season 4. The fourth season wasn’t included on the complete list of new release shows and movies coming in March 2022, but we weren’t expecting a release this spring anyway. Here’s when the season will be released.

Stranger Things season 4 volume 1 release date

Netflix will release the first part of Stranger Things season 4 on Friday, May 27. Along with the announcement of the release date, the streamer revealed the season would be split into two halves for completely understandable and exciting reasons.

The powers that be behind the series revealed that season 4’s episodes are long, eclipsing those of the previous season. While most fans will wish they could binge-watch the full season, we’re getting more Stranger Things than ever before, and the wait for volume 2 isn’t long.

The second part of season 4 will arrive five weeks later on Friday, July 1 and bring Stranger Things season 4 to an end. Sure, it will be bittersweet to have to wait again, but at least we know Stranger Things season 5 will be on the way.

Although we wish season 4 would have premiered sooner rather later, it’s exciting to see and hear what the creators have planned for fans. The official trailer will surely be released ahead of the release date and further solidify the fandom’s collective excitement.
