Cat Burglar is Netflix’s new animated interactive special brought to you from the mind of Black Mirror’s Bandersnatch creator, Charlie Brooker. Viewers are tasked with guiding “Rowdy Cat” — the naughty cat burglar set to steal the “most valuable paintings in the history of paintings” — through a series of obstacles by answering a variety of trivia-style questions.

You only get a few seconds to answer, so make sure you’re paying attention and you’ve got your thinking hats on!

If you’re worried about getting things wrong, don’t be! Rowdy Cat has three lives for you to complete the successful museum robbery with.

While you don’t influence the direct decisions that Rowdy Cat makes, as a viewer you are in full control of the outcomes of his decisions. So think of yourself as his good luck (or bad luck in some cases) charm.

Will he be able to avoid all the boobytraps set for him by “Peanut” the security pup? That’s up to you!

The “half-witted interactive heist” is a fun experience for all ages, although the trivia questions are slightly more tailored towards adults. It’s made in the style of classic cartoons; think Tom & Jerry, Top Cat, and Garfield and Friends. The Tex Avery-inspired cartoon allows viewers hours of fun as there are multiple animations and sequences of Rowdy trying to outsmart Peanut to explore.

With hundreds of different outcomes on offer depending on how you answer the trivia questions, Cat Burglar joins the likes of Black Mirror’s choose your own adventure special, BandersnatchMinecraft: Story Mode, the survival adventure You vs Wild: Out Cold, Buddy Thunderstruck: The Maybe Pile, The Boss Baby: Get That Baby!, and the Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt interactive special.

Cat Burglar premiered on Netflix on February 22, 2022 and is available to stream now!
