Netflix shows that deserve a spin-off: Outer Banks (Barry)

Outer Banks is one of the biggest and most popular shows on Netflix. It’s a compelling teen drama that you can’t help but love. Even people who would normally skip out on a teen series such as Outer Banks would say it’s in their top 5. The elements of mystery and suspense will pull you in and never let you go. But what really keeps viewers coming back for more is the well-written characters.

We all love the Pogues and have learned a lot about them over a span of two seasons, but there have been side characters to come in and steal the show. I’m talking about Barry, the 20-year-old something local drug dealer and pawnshop manager. We mostly see him hanging around Rafe. I think what’s so interesting about this character is that he’s not someone you want to mess with, but he’s not physically imposing in any way. He won’t really bother you unless you bother him.

I feel like there’s definitely more backstory to him that the viewers could get the chance to see in a potential spin-off. I wonder how he became who he is. What led him to dabble in drugs? We know he’s from The Cut, which is on the poorer side of the Outer Banks. But all the other Pogues aren’t getting into shady business like Barry just because of their environment. What was Barry’s upbringing like? Where is his family? These are all questions that can be answered in a spin-off.

Sadly, if there were to be a spin-off of Outer Banks, I don’t think the story would center around Barry. He’s not a popular character, so I don’t think he would be chosen for the spin-off. However, one can only hope!
