All American: Homecoming premiered on Monday, Feb. 21. The sports drama is set at a college in Atlanta called Bringston University. The HBCU is home to some of America’s most talented athletes and brilliant minds.

Among the student body is Simone Hicks, a young woman who put her tennis dreams on the backburner when she became pregnant. However, now that her son has been adopted by a loving family and she’s been assured of his well being, she intends on blazing a trail back into the elite of her sport.

Simone’s determined to do whatever it takes to ensure her future but college life isn’t easy. On top of keeping her grades up, she’ll be contending with a rivalry between herself and the team captain of Bringston’s tennis players, a friendship with Damon Sims that’s a bit more than friendly, and navigating young adulthood in a new city.

Thankfully, she’s surrounding by her friends which are quickly becoming her found family and her Aunt Amara who’s always there when she needs her. All American: Homecoming also centers on Simone’s friend, Damon, who is a baseball phenom that gave up an opportunity to play in the major leagues in order to be a part of the team at Bringston.

He, too, will be dealing with a new found freedom that comes both with benefits and drawbacks. Damon’s challenges primarily focus on developing a team mentality. It’s not just him on the field and though he’s the best player they have, he’ll still need to learn that he can’t win without the help of his teammates and their support.

Is All American: Homecoming coming to Netflix?

The show’s parent series, All American, is available to stream on Netflix, however, All American: Homecoming will likely land on HBO Max once its season finishes airing. This is due to Paramount and Warner Media exiting their partnership with the streamer in 2019. Since then, new CW shows have been making HBO Max their streaming home. This spin-off series will most likely follow suit despite its parent show being on Netflix.
