The Ozark star acted in several student films at Columbia Film School when she was 15 years old. Fortunately, Julia was able to make a connection with someone who was working as an intern at a casting office for Susan Shopmaker.

Julia didn’t get cast in her first audition, but shortly after, Shopmaker cast her in the film Martha Marcy May Marlene. This was her film debut, and she was only 17 years old at the time.
