Get ready to see Adam Sandler as you’ve never seen him before in the upcoming Netflix sports comedy-drama, titled Hustle. The movie, which is produced by Sandler himself and basketball legend LeBron James, is a “love letter” to the game and sees real-life Spanish NBA basketball player Juancho Hernangómez bring his court skills to the screen.

The movie’s story—co-written by Will Fetters, one of the writers behind the 2018 tearjerker A Star is Born and Taylor Materne—follows a washed-up pro basketball scout (Sandler) who attempts to restart his dying career after discovering Spanish player (Hernangómez), who has huge potential to make it to the NBA.

Jeremiah Zagar (We the Animals) directs while Materne, Judit Maull, Dave Meyers, Spencer Beighley, Jamal Henderson, Barry Bernardi and Kevin Grady executive produce. Sandler, Allen Covert, Joe Roth, Jeffrey Kirschenbaum, Zack Roth, Lebron James and Maverick Carter are also producing.

Hustle will be the first of two Adam Sandler projects to be released in 2022. The movie will officially be available to stream on Friday, June 10, 2022. Netflix announced the news on their social media pages on Friday, Feb. 18.

The feel-good comedy-drama is rated R for language and its runtime is about 1 hour and 25 minutes.

"After discovering a once-in-a-lifetime player with a rocky past abroad, a down on his luck basketball scout (Adam Sandler) takes it upon himself to bring the phenom to the States without his team’s approval. Against the odds, they have one final shot to prove they have what it takes to make it in the NBA."
