Texas Chainsaw’s Mark Burnham height: How tall is the new Leatherface?

Texas Chainsaw Massacre is now streaming on Netflix and viewers were shocked by how tall Leatherface was in comparison to the other characters. Mark Burnham plays the role of the new Leatherface, so he’s obviously a pretty tall guy himself. So how tall is Leatherface?

Leatherface is considered one of the tallest horror movie villains. His huge stature helps him easily frighten his victims. But it was surprising to see how fast he moves. His height would help him move fast because he has long legs, but he always carries his signature weapon, the chainsaw. A chainsaw is a heavy tool, but somehow the mentally disabled serial killer still managed to one-up his victims.

According to Stage32, Burnham stands at 6 feet 4 inches tall. He’s over the average height for a male. Burnham was perfectly cast. If you’ve looked at the other Texas Chainsaw Massacre films in the franchise, you’d see that the new Leatherface is basically the same height.

How tall is Leatherface?

Traditionally, the character has been known to stand at 6 feet 7 inches tall. In The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Gunnar Hansen played the infamous character. Like Burnham, Hansen is 6 feet 4 inches tall. But for the movie, Hansen had to wear three-inch heels. It’s unclear if Mark Burnham had to wear heels, too. But both characters look about the same height. So he probably did wear some type of shoes that made him taller.

It wouldn’t have been a wise choice to change Leatherface’s height in the new horror movie because he’s supposed to be the same character from the original version. His height is one of the reasons why he’s so frightening and menacing.
