Netflix shows that might be canceled: Wu Assassins

Seasons: 1

Created by: John Wirth and Tony Krantz

Starring: Iko Uwais, JuJu Chan, Byron Mann, Li Jun Li, Celia Au, Lewis Tan, Lawrence Kao, Tommy Flanagan, and Katheryn Winnick

Wu Assassins landed on Netflix in August 2019 and received mostly positive reviews from critics. Fans and critics praised the series for its well-choreographed fight and action-packed scenes. But, as of February 2022, there still has been no official word on if the show’s been canceled or renewed.

Although the action series fate is unknown, fans at least have a Wu Assassins standalone film slated to come out soon. In February 2021, Netflix announced a continuation of the series in a movie format. The film is titled Fistful of Vengeance and is set to make its way to Netflix on Feb. 17, 2022.

Fistful of Vengeance will continue where season 1 left off. Hopefully, the movie ends on a cliffhanger because that would leave more story to tell. According to an interview Wu Assassins star Tzi Ma did with Digital Spy in September 2020, he said that there are more plans for the action series. Tzi Ma stated that the creators are looking to do two movies instead of continuing the series. If what Tzi Ma said is true, fans could see a second film after Fistful of Vengeance on Netflix.

So it looks like Wu Assassins will not be continuing as a series but instead in movie format. We’ll definitely keep you posted on any updates regarding Wu Assassins.
