16 best Netflix shows that might be canceled or ending in 2022
Netflix shows that might be canceled or ending in 2022
We just recently settled into the new year and Netflix has already begun renewing and canceling shows. While renewals are always good news, cancellations can be a real bummer. At the top of the year, we saw two Netflix shows canceled. Sadly, there will most likely be more cancelations throughout the year.
In January, we saw the cancellation of the Netflix shows Gentefied and Cooking with Paris. We’re not surprised because Netflix doesn’t want to invest in shows that people aren’t watching. It’s a waste of time, money, and effort.
There are also shows in danger of being canceled this year since they have yet to receive a renewal announcement. Then, some shows are returning with their final seasons in 2022.
If you want to know which shows are on the chopping block and which shows are ending this year, we’ve got you covered! We compiled a list of all the Netflix shows at risk of cancellation and all the shows dropping their final seasons this year. Hopefully, none of the at-risk shows are your favorites, and the shows that are ending wrap everything up nicely.
We’ve decided to start the list off with the Netflix shows confirmed to be ending in 2022. Fan-favorite series Ozark will be kicking off the list.

Ozark will be bowing out with its final seven episodes by the end of 2022, and fans aren’t ready to close the book on one of Netflix’s top original series of all time. The first part of the fourth and final season premiered on Jan. 21 and quickly became one of the most-watched series at the time. But were we really expecting anything less from a show that’s been consistently bringing in the viewers?
The crime drama series premiered on Netflix in 2017 and has only become more popular over the years. Critics have praised the series for its incredible performances, skillful writing, production value, and well-placed twists.
If you need more proof that Ozark is worth watching, just look at how many times the series has been nominated at the Emmy Awards. Ozark has received a total of 32 Emmy nominations over the years, with Jason Bateman winning Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series in 2019 and Julia Garner winning Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2019 and 2020.
Ozark follows Marty Byrde and the rest of his family as they relocate from Chicago to the Missouri Ozarks after a money-laundering scheme goes wrong. After the big move, Marty has to continue laundering money from the Ozarks to repay the drug lords. Of course, problems arise and Marty must find a way to keep his family safe once again.
Netflix has not announced the official release date for Ozark season 4 part 2 yet, but fans will definitely be seeing the series closure by the end of the year, according to The Hollywood Reporter. As always, you can count on us to share the release date as soon as it’s announced.
