Sweet Magnolias season 2 spoilers: Do Dana Sue and Ronnie end up together?

There are many complicated relationships within Sweet Magnolias, but when it comes to the romantic kind it’s hard to find a more complicated dynamic than the one between Dana Sue and her husband Ronnie.

For most of season 1, Ronnie is only ever mentioned on a few occasions and whenever Dana Sue brings up his name it’s often not for good reason. Perhaps that was why it was so surprising to audiences when Dana Sue called upon Ronnie for help saving her restaurant in the season 1 finale — a call that led to Ronnie’s arrival back in town.

Upon arriving back in Serenity, Ronnie made it clear he still had feelings for Dana Sue and wanted nothing more than to get back together with her. These emotions carry into the new season as Ronnie is determined to win Dana Sue back in Sweet Magnolias season 2, but is he successful or do the pair remain separated by the season’s end?

Do Dana Sue and Ronnie get together in Sweet Magnolias season 2?

As Sweet Magnolias season 2 begins, sparks are definitely flying between Dana Sue and charming suitor… that suitor just so happens to be Jeremy, who first caught Dana Sue’s eye in season 1. However, by season’s end Dana Sue does, in fact, end up getting back together with Ronnie.

In the season premiere, Dana Sue and Jeremy finally act on their feelings leading to a kiss in her restaurant that quickly becomes the talk of the town. It looks like Jeremy might end up being who Dana Sue chooses to be with; however, despite her best efforts to push Ronnie away, the two share a passionate moment in episode 3 which leads to Dana Sue breaking things off with Jeremy in the following episode.

While Ronnie takes the breakup as a sign that Dana Sue wants to get back together, it takes time for Dana Sue to warm up to the idea of truly giving Ronnie a second chance.

To show his commitment in wanting to make things right, Ronnie lets his actions do the talking by taking care of several repairs around the house and putting in the work to prove his commitment. After a lot of soul searching and time spent working through her conflicting emotions, Dana Sue ultimately decides to take Ronnie back and give him a second chance.

In the season 2 finale, Ronnie and Dana Sue officially get back together as Dana Sue invites him to finally move back home and begin a new chapter together as a family. This being Sweet Magnolias, there’s no telling what the future might hold for the pair, but at least as of the season 2 finale, Dana Sue and Ronnie are back together and in a good place!
