Filming on Ginny and Georgia season 2 is well underway. Fans of the hit Netflix original series have been clamoring to know when the new season will make its premiere. We’re in for a wait when it comes to a confirmed release date, but we do have some casting news!

Georgia’s ex-husband, Gil Timmins, will be making his debut on the series. He’s Austin’s father, another man that Georgia ran from when the relationship soured. In season 1, he was still serving time in jail for embezzlement. Austin’s one point of contact with him were letters he thought his father was sending him. However, to his disappointment, they were actually being sent by his mom.

That’s sure to bite Georgia in season 2 once she’s reunited with her run-off children but, with Gil presumably back in the picture, she also has bigger fish to fry. On top of Ginny knowing her mother’s deadly secret, it seems things weren’t so cut and dry with Gil’s charges.

Deadline’s report of the casting didn’t include information on how Gil enters the fold, but if he’s around then we bet more trouble is coming for Georgia. When they met, she was taken in by his “intoxicating charm and good looks,” but who they are now is likely to mix as well as oil and water despite their similarities.

We’re expecting quite the drama-filled arc for these two.

Who plays Georgia’s ex-husband on Ginny and Georgia season 2?

Aaron Ashmore has been cast in the role of Gil Timmins. He’s best known for his roles on Smallville, Warehouse 13, Killjoys, and Locke & Key.

IMDb currently has Ashmore listed as being in all ten episodes of Ginny and Georgia season 2. While that could change on the site as more information becomes available, it wouldn’t be surprising if Gil has a heavy presence in season 2 given where he and Georgia left off.
