Alexandra Breckenridge shares major Virgin River season 5 filming news

Virgin River season 4 is one of the best Netflix shows coming in 2022, but don’t forget that Netflix has already given Virgin River season 5 the green light.

The hit romantic drama series was renewed for two more seasons in September 2021 after Virgin River season 3 arrived to great success in July.

While the cast and crew got back to work filming Virgin River season 4 in fall 2021, plenty of interesting details and teases have emerged, such as a certain someone’s fate revealed. But we’re all really here for those release date details, and Alexandra Breckenridge had time to spill some teases.

Breckenridge didn’t unveil the highly anticipated Virgin River season 4 release date, but she did provide some insight on what to expect for Virgin River season 5 as well as when to expect the next season. Here’s what the star said on Instagram.

When does Virgin River season 5 start filming?

Answering a fan question, Breckenridge shared this major update on when Virgin River season 5 begins filming: “We were supposed to start in March, but it’s been pushed, so I don’t know.”

She goes on to predict they could start filming the next season in summer 2022, which she definitely prefers to filming in the cold Vancouver winters. (Who can blame her?) As of this writing, an official filming timeframe has yet to be confirmed, but if Alexandra Breckenridge has her way, they will pick back up this summer.

Virgin River season 5 release date updates

Since the production start date on season 5 remains up in the air, it’s tough to predict exactly when these episodes could air. We previously wondered whether Virgin River season 5 could come in 2022, but with filming postponed, that’s looking more and more unlikely.

Virgin River season 4 could premiere as early as spring 2022, though it’s most likely set for another summer release date. Depending on when cameras start rolling on season 5, we could see the next batch of episodes arrive sometime in mid-2023.
