Rebelde has finally dropped on Netflix, and viewers love the new reboot. Many of us stayed up late to binge-watch all eight episodes and are hoping for more. So will there be a Rebelde season 2?

Rebelde is a Mexican teen drama series that premiered on Netflix on Jan. 5. Although it’s considered a reboot, it’s really not. Instead, it’s a continuation of the 2004 Mexican telenovela titled the same name. The characters in the new series are in the same universe as the telenovela.

It follows a new generation of students attending the prestigious Elite Way School as they try their best to win the Battle of the Bands to become musical stars. But, of course, the teens have their own personal struggles while trying to navigate friendships and love. It doesn’t help the students of EWS have a familiar threat called the Lodge trying to stop them from reaching their full potential.

Many people enjoyed this fresh new take on this classic teen television series and hope this isn’t the last they see of Rebelde. Here’s everything we know about Rebelde season 2 right below!

How many seasons of Rebelde are there?

There is only one season of Rebelde and all eight episodes of the first season are available to stream on Netflix.

Will there be a Rebelde season 2?

Hopefully! Unfortunately, Netflix did not give this original series an early renewal announcement. This was expected, seeing as though this is a new series and all. So the fate of this show is currently up in the air. It all depends on the viewership numbers. If enough people watch the first season, there’s a good chance the show will be renewed.

We’ll most likely have to wait at least a month before hearing Netflix’s decision. However, there could be a longer wait. We’ll update you when Netflix makes a decision.

An official episode count has not been announced since the show hasn’t been renewed yet. However, we expect the potential second season to have eight episodes just like the first season.

Rebelde season 2 synopsis

An official synopsis has not been released since a second season hasn’t been confirmed. However, we’ll make sure to provide the synopsis when it’s released. In a potential second season, you can expect to see more into the students’ lives at Elite Way School. Also, you can expect new songs performed and of course more drama.

Rebelde season 2 release date

As we mentioned earlier, the teen series has not been renewed for a second season yet, so we do not have an official release date. For now, we’ll share our release date predictions. Netflix typically releases new seasons of its original series a year apart. That being said, we could see season 2 in January 2023. Remember, this is just our prediction. The second season could come earlier or later than the date we predicted.
