There are many recognizable actors and actresses in Cobra Kai, especially for fans of The Karate Kid movies.

Cobra Kai season 4 is now streaming on Netflix, as of New Year’s Eve, and fans were not prepared for the Carrie Underwood cameo in the new season.

We’re going to talk about Underwood’s cameo, so turn back if you don’t want to know any spoilers about Cobra Kai season 4.

Cobra Kai season 4 spoilers ahead!

Why is Carrie Underwood in Cobra Kai season 4?

Underwood appears in the ninth episode of Cobra Kai season 4 to kick off the All Valley Tournament. Underwood plays herself and sings “The Moment of Truth” to start the tournament.

Hopefully, Netflix will drop the video of Underwood’s performance soon, but you can watch it on Netflix right now.

As it turns out, Underwood is a big fan of The Karate Kid and Cobra Kai, and that’s mainly why she makes an appearance in the new season.

We shared what Underwood told Netflix about Cobra Kai below:

"“I grew up watching ‘Daniel’ and ‘Johnny,’ and I can’t believe I actually get to be a small part of the legacy that is the Karate Kid. Once I discovered ‘Cobra Kai’ a few years ago, it became one of my favorite shows! I had so much fun being on the set and singing such a classic song. I cannot wait to watch every new episode!”"

Underwood’s cameo was not the only big cameo in Cobra Kai season 4. We did not see the return of Elisabeth Shue as Ali Mills, but we did see Nichole Brown return as Aisha in season 4.

Thomas Ian Griffith returned to play Terry Silver in season 4, and we have to imagine he’ll be back in Cobra Kai season 5, which has already wrapped production. It’s set to premiere on Netflix in 2022.
