Is Cheers on Netflix?

If you’re looking to go where everybody knows your name, Cheers should be at the top of your watch list. The classic sitcom is a favorite among fans and has remained so four decades after its premiere on NBC in 1982. But is it still available to stream on Netflix?

Recently, some of the best shows on Netflix have come and gone due to the launch of a few new streaming services. Big non-Netflix originals have shuffled from streamer to streamer, and it can be difficult to keep track of what’s available and where.

In the past year, fellow NBC hit comedies such as Seinfeld and 30 Rock returned to Netflix, while the network’s fan-favorite drama series Friday Night Lights also huddled back onto the streaming service for another victory lap.

However, has Cheers followed suit with those series and made its way back to Netflix? Here’s where the landmark bar comedy is streaming right now.

Where to watch Cheers

As of December 2021, Cheers isn’t currently available to stream on Netflix. Although the hit sitcom was once among the hilarious comedy titles on the streamer along with its spin-off Frasier, it was removed in July 2020.

But it’s not all bad news. If you want to watch Cheers, it’s as easy as heading over to Peacock. All 11 seasons of the series are available to watch on the NBC streaming service.

Across those 11 seasons, there are 275 episodes to keep you busy for a truly one-of-a-kind throwback binge-watch. And if you’re really in it for the long haul, Frasier also streams on Peacock and has 11 seasons of its own to keep comedy fans company.

Maybe both Emmy-winning, decade-defining NBC sitcoms will someday return to Netflix as one of the best comedy shows along with some of their fellow hit series, but for now, fans can watch them both in all their glory on Peacock.
