Does Yennefer die in The Witcher season 2?

Yennefer found herself without powers and as a prisoner of war on The Witcher season 2. Did she die or make it through the season alive?

It was not an easy season for Yennefer. After being the hero at Sodden, she found herself a prisoner of war. On top of that, she’d lost her powers. Without the connection to magic, she was viewed as a threat and forced to go on the run.

There was a chance for her to get her powers back. It would mean sacrificing Ciri, which she tricked Ciri into allowing her to do. Geralt realized everything Yennefer was up to and followed the two.

Would Geralt choose to kill Yennefer to save Ciri? Things had to be put on hold when Ciri was possessed by Voleth Meir and controlled by the witch. Yen and Geralt had to work together on The Witcher season 2 to save Ciri.

Did Yennefer sacrifice herself to save Ciri on The Witcher season 2?

It looked like Ciri would be lost to the evil witch forever. Yen makes a potion to save Ciri, but then she realizes she will need to be the next vessel for Voleth Meir.

This is a big moment. Yennefer sacrifices herself for Ciri, and it takes the two of them and Geralt through a portal to Voleth Meir’s home plane. The evil witch leaves, sending Yen, Ciri, and Geralt back.

Yennefer manages to survive all of this. She even gets her powers back for the sacrifice she was willing to make.

Does Geralt kill Yennefer?

There’s still a problem. Geralt doesn’t forgive Yennefer for putting Ciri’s life in danger. He doesn’t think he’ll ever be able to forgive that.

However, for now, Yennefer gets to stay with him and Ciri. She gets to live. Yen has been the only person able to help Ciri control her powers, so Yen needs to stay to continue that training. Things are just over between Geralt and Yennefer.

For now, that is!
