Julie and the Phantoms was one of the best new Netflix shows of 2020, and the teen musical dramedy has amassed one of the most loyal fanbases on the internet. Fans rallied behind the series to help persuade Netflix against cancellation, but the writing was on the wall.

Unfortunately, Netflix opted not to renew Julie and the Phantoms for a second season, which is a terrible blow for the dedicated fans who wanted to see the story continue. But just because a show has been canceled doesn’t mean new viewers can’t give it a chance.

The charming little series was truly delightful, and even though there’s a bit of darkness in the premise, it’s a lighthearted series full of heart and humor. The nine-episode series is a must watch for any viewers partial to teen comedies with a bit of music in the mix.

We may not be seeing Julie and the Phantoms season 2 anytime soon, but fans new and old can still discover the many things to love about the criminally short-lived series. Make sure to add this underrated comedy to your watch list if you haven’t already.
