Love

Seasons: 3

Created By: Judd Apatow, Lesley Arfin and Paul Rust

Starring: Gillian Jacobs, Paul Rust, Claudia O’Doherty, Mike Mitchell, Chris Witaske

You might have forgotten about this early Netflix original comedy, but don’t worry, we won’t let you. Back when the streaming giant was basically the Wild West, an endearing little romantic comedy called Love helped refine the parameters of what comedies could be in the world of streaming. And to boot, Love was also stacked with tons of laughs.

Love stars Paul Rust and Gillian Jacobs as Gus and Mickey, a traditionally mismatched pairing that meets by chance in Los Angeles and quickly becomes entwined in each other’s lives. The series takes an honest look at modern dating through both perspectives of the relationship, as both Gus and Mickey bring their own set of unique issues to the table that makes love a little more difficult.

When Love first premiered in February 2016, the charming rom-com earned positive reviews from critics, with most highlighting the performances of Paul Rust and Gillian Jacobs. It’s one of those shows that can be a tough watch because the cringe-comedy arrives with reckless, realistic abandon. With only three seasons, you’ll love a quick binge or re-watch of Love.
