There are a lot of great TV shows on Netflix this weekend, but what about movies? Here are five Netflix movies that are more than worth watching.

It won’t be all too surprising if you’re spending the weekend watching great Netflix shows. After all, The Witcher Season 2 is now streaming on Netflix, and it’s been the release we’ve all been waiting for.

What if you don’t have time to watch the full season? Or what about when you’ve binged all eight episodes? You’ll have time for some Netflix movies, and there are a lot of great picks.

Granted, these picks are mostly from earlier in the week or from years past. It really is all about the shows on Netflix this week!

5 must-watch Netflix movies this weekend

Darkest Hour

We start with one of the movies that arrived this week. If you love anything about Winston Churchill, this is a must-watch. If you love anything with Gary Oldman, you need to watch this movie right now.

Darkest Hour is a World War II biopic. It’s the eve of the war, and British Prime Minister Winston Churchill has a dark decision to make. Will he take Britain into the war? We know how history played out, but you’ll want to see how it all came to that point.

The Hand of God

One of the Netflix Original Movies this week was The Hand of God. This Italian movie is more than worth checking out, and you can choose subtitles or dubbing. It’s completely up to you.

The Hand of God follows a 17-year-old boy from Naples. We get to see his life in the 1980s as he figures out high school and who he is. The coming-of-age movie is tipped for big awards, so give it a chance when you have the time.

Chocolat

The start of the month saw some great Netflix movies. Chocolat may have been one that you overlooked. It is one of Johnny Depp’s earlier movies, so you may not have even heard about it.

The movie follows a French woman who moves to a village with her young daughter and opens a chocolate shop. As she builds her business in the remote town, she comes across a man who is an outcast in the town. What happens as they start to fall in love?

Jingle Jangle

There are some great Christmas Netflix movies to check out, and you’ll want to spend this weekend watching them with the kids. The first to watch is Jingle Jangle.

It’s a wonderful musical tale that follows young Journey. She wants to encourage her grandfather to start making toys again, something he hasn’t done since his apprentice stole his book of toy ideas. That young apprentice is grown with a successful toy business of his own, but he’s run out of ideas from the book and now he needs his former master to give him more ideas.

The Christmas Chronicles

Finally, it’s all about The Christmas Chronicles. This is the last weekend before Christmas, and you’ll certainly want to get into the Christmas spirit. This is a movie that will do it. In fact, there are two movies to check out this weekend.

The first movie follows two siblings who want to catch Santa in the act. They end up having to help Santa save Christmas by bringing the spirit of the day back in the city.
