Stranger Things season 4 rumor hints at disappointing release date

Stranger Things season 4 is coming to Netflix in the summer of 2022; that much we know. Stranger Things is going to be one of the best Netflix shows coming in 2022.

Unfortunately, there’s a lot of debate about when summer actually is. For movies, even Netflix movies, the summer season begins in late April and runs through September. So, we’d been thinking that there could be a chance we see the Stranger Things season 4 release date happen in April or May 2022.

Well, a new rumor from Deuxmoi about the Stranger Things season 4 release date suggests we might be waiting even longer for Stranger Things season 4 than we hoped.

Stranger Things season 4 release date

The rumor was posted in the Deuxmoi Instagram story in mid-December 2021. It claims the Stranger Things season 4 release date will be on Friday, July 1, 2022.

It also claims that the release date will be announced on Christmas.

Please, let me share a couple of caveats. Netflix has not announced anything except that Stranger Things season 4 is coming to Netflix in the summer of 2022. Until Netflix shares any info, nothing is official.

Let the record also show that we’ve seen a number of rumored Stranger Things season 4 release dates in the two-plus years since season 3 premiered. Again, we’re just going to have to wait and see what happens and when Netflix announces it.

To me, this seems like a very realistic release date for Stranger Things season 4. First of all, it’s a Friday, which is when Netflix normally drops new seasons of shows. It’s also right before the Fourth of July weekend, which is when season 3 premiered in 2019 and set the Netflix record (at that time) for viewership.

I have no qualms with this rumored release date (other than it’s so far away right now!).

One of the other rumored release dates we’ve seen is for a May 27, 2022 release date for season 4. That’s a little bit sooner, and it also lines up with a holiday weekend. I think it also counts for a summer release, too.

So, for now, it looks like we could be getting Stranger Things season 4 in May or July 2022. We’ll share more updates as Netflix releases them.

Again, nothing is official until Netflix says so. This is all speculation about the release date.
