Is Red Notice 2 coming in 2022?
Red Notice, starring Gal Gadot, Ryan Reynolds, and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, has been smashing records left and right as it has become Netflix’s most-watched movie of 2021. With a feat this massive, Red Notice 2 is a no-brainer.
Although not yet confirmed but most definitely probable, a Red Notice sequel is expected to be on the way. And with this being the case, we want to tell you just when you may be able to expect Red Notice 2 when it is (eventually) confirmed.
Will Red Notice 2 release in 2022?
As of today, there is a 50/50 chance that the sequel of Red Notice will release in the new year.
Comicbook reports that Red Notice director Rawson Marshall Thurber has been in talks with Netflix about a sequel, but he has unfortunately not yet begun the process of writing the script.
In the interview, Thurber stated:
I’m not working on the script for a sequel. I’ve certainly been noodling with what I would do for a follow-up and not to telltale out of school but, yeah, Netflix—we’ve been having those conversations.
With this in mind, the chances of a 2022 release date become a tad bit lower as production and filming, especially for a movie of this magnitude, takes a significant amount of time. It’s possible that this anticipated action-packed movie won’t arrive on Netflix until much later than anyone, even Thurber, could have predicted. Even still, things could change.
Red Notice 2 release date (predictions)
If filming progresses smoothly for Red Notice 2, then there’s a fair chance that we can expect the sequel around late fall 2022 or early winter 2022 being that this is when the first film was officially released on Netflix.
But as stated previously, if production has a much later start, then you may be waiting on Red Notice 2 until well into 2023.
Naturally, as these are only estimations, there is a chance that we could be proven wrong. Nevertheless, as we wait for more information to be revealed, we’ll hold on to these predictions and update you once we know more.
