The 2021 film Asakusa Kid is coming to Netflix on Dec. 9!

It’s an autobiographical coming-of-age movie that you’re certainly not going to want to miss as it is sure to compel you to chase your wildest dreams.

Asakusa Kid synopsis

Based on the memoir of the same name by Takeshi Kitano, this film tells the journey of our esteemed author, who long ago was an aspiring comedian with tons of potential but no direction.

To make his big dreams a reality, he seeks the mentorship of Senzaburo Fukami in the Asakusa district and fortunately learns many valuable lessons and skills under his wing. However, things become awkward once Takeshi surpasses Fukami’s level and desires to take his talent outside of Asakusa for the world to see.

Where will Takeshi’s desires lead him and can his down-for-the-count mentor come along with him? You’ll have to tune in to find out.

The synopsis isn’t the only thing that’s worth getting excited for as the actors and actresses in this film are extremely talented. The cast for Asakusa Kid includes:
