Is Toradora on Netflix?

A classic school romance never sounds old and outdated, to be honest. Neither does a setup of school, students, uniforms, classes, exams, giddy crushes, little rumors spreading, and going from enemies to friends. And that’s what you get in the anime Toradora.

Sounds nearly perfect, doesn’t it?

And when all this turns into 25 episodes of anime? Doesn’t it feel like a long night of blanket cuddles and ice cream in front of the TV? Of course, it does. Not wasting any more time, let me talk about Toradora so fans can go ahead and plan their anime binge-watch.

The anime first got aired on the Oct. 2, 2008, and ran through March 26, 2009. The 25-episode long anime was directed by Tatsuyuki Nagai under the studio banner J.C. Staff and originally aired on TV Tokyo.

Is Toradora available on Netflix?

Netflix is a huge platform wherein the shows and movies find their way to a huge amount of viewers. When an anime premieres on the streaming service, it becomes more popular, reaching the best and targeting the right people at their own comfort.

Speaking of Toradora! Yes, the anime has been premiered on Netflix on Aug. 1, 2020, releasing all of its 25 episodes with OVA. The anime is rated for ages 13+, therefore children below 13 are advised to watch under parental guidance.

What is Toradora about?

The story revolves around Ryuji Takasu, a second-year high school student, who is dying to look like his best self. However, his eyes give him more of a delinquent and creepy vibe. He feels delightful when he finds that he is going to be in the same class as his best friend, Yusaku Kitamura, and also as his crush Minori Kushieda.

Going forward, he meets the most dangerous animal of the school, Taiga Aisaka. Taiga Aisaka is a tiny little girl, who has a very sharp tongue and a tougher attitude.

Both Ryuji and Taiga discover each other’s crushes and make a plan to help one another to make their crushes fall for them. They make plans that continue to fail, instead of giving rise to a rumor about them dating each other.

Will this odd pair of people walk their way into love with each other rather than the crushes.

Will there be a season 2?

The anime was released in 2008, with a recent premiere on Netflix in the year 2020. The new limelight of the anime has brought a lot of new audiences, recreating the fan base of the show once again. Ever since the premiere, there have been many calls for the next season of the show.

However, no official word is been heard from the production, J.C. Staff or Netflix.

Another reason for no renewal of the season could be a lack of source material. The first season used up all the 10 volumes of the light novel, which doesn’t provide much resource to draft another season.

Nevertheless, the season could also take upon by the possible spinoffs or newly drafted stories by talented authors. In that case, season 2 of the anime could premiere in late 2022 or early 2023. It will most possibly be released by Netflix and J.C. Staff.
