Abbott Elementary, the workplace comedy series created by and starring Quinta Brunson, premiered Tuesday, Dec. 7.

The show follows Janine Teagues (Brunson), a 2nd grade teacher who’s been educating students at Abbott Elementary School for a year. She, like the rest of the school’s faculty and staff, is dedicated to sparking the young, creative minds of every student that passes through her classroom.

However, their Philadelphia set school district is poorly funded and it’s a struggle balancing the needs of their students with the resources available to them in a school that has more than one structural and professional issue.

From being short-staffed to navigating inappropriate behavior in the workplace, the teachers, administrators, and custodians of the school have their work cut out for them. That’s not even taking into account clashes with parents and the school board.

It takes more than books and materials to educate children as the comedy illustrates through humor, hilarious situations, and real talk about the American public school system.

Tyler James Williams, Janelle James, William Standford Davis, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Lisa Ann Walter, and Chris Perfetti also star in Abbott Elementary. Here’s where you can stream the show online.

Where to watch Abbott Elementary online

This workplace comedy is an ABC original. While the series premiered its first episode on Dec. 7, new episodes won’t start airing until Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2022 at 9 p.m. ET on the channel.

Abbott Elementary will be available for next day streaming but not on Netflix. Hulu will be the show’s streaming home while it airs. According to HuffPost, the series is slated for a 13 episode run.
