Outer Banks and the 11 Netflix shows that made Fandoms of the Year 2021

It’s officially that time of the year at FanSided when we honor the best fandoms across TV, movies, sports, and more on FanSided’s Fandoms of the Year list.

This year, a bunch of Netflix shows were nominated, including the fan-favorite Netflix original series Outer Banks.

There’s no doubt Outer Banks fans are some of the best fans in entertainment right now. The fans are so supportive of the stars of the series, Chase Stokes, Madelyn Cline, Madison Bailey, Jonathan Daviss, Rudy Pankow, Drew Starkey, and more, and it’s clear how much they love this show.

We shared the other Netflix shows recognized on the Fandoms of the Year list below.

Netlfix Fandoms of the Year 2021

The cool thing about a lot of these Netflix fandoms is how much crossover there is. We know tons of fans of Outer Banks are also fans of Lucifer, Midnight Mass, Fear Street, and more. That’s just how it goes with Netflix fans.

There are 11 Netflix fandoms on the list of the FanSided Fandoms of the year this year. That’s so awesome! It just shows how passionate we all are about these great shows and movies.

Squid Game was the biggest shows of 2021 and the biggest Netflix originals of all time. Shadow and Bone introduced millions to Leigh Bardugo’s Grishaverse.

We also got to see and celebrate the final season of Lucifer this year, along with Atypical. 

Overall, it’s been a great year for all these Netflix shows, and 2022 is going to be even better. Hopefully, we’ll see Outer Banks, I Think You Should Leave, Manifest, Shadow and Bone, Lupin, and Squid Game on the FanSided Fandoms of the Year 2022.

We’ll also probably see Stranger Things, The Umbrella Academy, Ozark, Bridgerton, and more Netflix fandoms on that list.
