When we needed it the most, 2021 has been a great year for TV and movies. Ted Lasso season 2 premiered and snatched up an impressive amount of Emmy Awards, Denis Villeneuve’s highly-anticipated Dune hit theaters (and HBO Max), and the Marvel Cinematic Universe kicked off their string of successful Disney+ shows. When it comes to Netflix, there’s been a handful of wonderful releases as well.

Horror fans thrived with the three-week release of the Fear Street trilogy, and Netflix Life couldn’t stop talking about all the action in Outer Banks season 2. But when we’re talking comedies, one show with a new season in 2021 reigns supreme. I’m talking about I Think You Should Leave With Tim Robinson season 2.

Premiering in 2019, I Think You Should Leave is a sketch comedy show starring Detroiters alum Tim Robinson, who also serves as co-creator and writer. The six episodes of season 1 are hilarious, strange and completely binge-able. But when season 2 was released on July 6, 2021, it took the show up a notch.

I Think You Should Leave season 2 sees Robinson at his funniest yet, including sketches that are even more bizarre than season 1. From a ghost tour attendee who can’t stop asking inappropriate questions, to a man spending all his work per diem on expensive shirts with eccentric patterns, Robinson plays ridiculous — yet somehow lovable — characters in every episode.

And the first scene in season 2 is enough to get anyone hooked. Seriously, you can’t skip lunch! You just can’t.

I Think You Should Leave is a must-watch for comedy fans

When it comes to sketch comedy, I Think You Should Leave is miles ahead of everything else on TV right now. As someone who thinks Saturday Night Live has become stale and wishes Portlandia never ended, this Netflix show has a special place in my heart and I recommend it to basically everyone I talk to.

The humor in I Think You Should Leave is raunchy without getting too gross, and it’s cringe-worthy in all the best ways. The many guest stars, including Steven Yeun, Will Forte and Tim Heidecker, complement Robinson as the lead perfectly.

FanSided’s Fandoms of the Year list has officially dropped, highlighting 100 fandoms that inspired and entertained us in 2021. Unsurprisingly, I Think You Should Leave made the list. Check out our tribute to the show, written by FanSided’s Adam Weinrib, right here.

I haven’t been able to stop talking about I Think You Should Leave in 2021, so if you haven’t watched it yet, what are you waiting for?
