Thanksgiving week is a great time to relax and see family. It’s also a good time to watch good movies and shows on Netflix. There are some excellent options this week.

While you may have a normal start to the week, you’ll certainly be looking forward to the end. It’s a time to spend quality time with the family while filling up on turkey dinner. Of course, there’s that time you get ready for the Black Friday sales (which are currently happening, so why not get the deals early?).

You’ll want to spend some time watching movies and shows on Netflix. This week has some great releases coming up. Make sure they’re on your list to watch.

This list is in release date order. After all, it’s impossible to compare genres!

5 must-watch movies and shows on Netflix for Thanksgiving week

F is for Family

If you love adult animation, there’s no doubt that you binge-watched all seasons of F is for Family when they dropped on Netflix. It’s time for the fifth season at the end of the week. The bad news is that this is the final season.

The series is set in the 1970s and is inspired by Bill Burr’s real life. He voices Frank, a short-tempered veteran who lives in the suburbs with his wife and three children. It’s time to see how it all ends for this family.

Watch the fifth and final season on Thursday, Nov. 25.

A Boy Called Christmas

Need something for the whole family? There are some great movies and shows on Netflix this week. You’ll want to check out the likes of Robin Robin and Masters of the Universe season 1, part 2 earlier in the week. The end of the week has one of the most highly anticipated holiday movies this year.

A Boy Called Christmas follows Nikolas, who sets out on an adventure into the snowy north. He wants to find his father, who set out to find the fabled village of the elves, Elfhelm. With his trusty reindeer Blitzen, Nikolas is ready to meet his destiny.

Watch the movie on Wednesday, Nov. 24.

A Castle for Christmas

Prefer a rom-com? There are some great options on Netflix, and the one dropping this week is A Castle for Christmas. Brooke Shields stars as a best-selling author who heads to Scotland for Christmas. While there, she falls in love with a castle. Yes, the castle. Not the duke in the castle.

The duke who owns the castle is actually a grumpy old man who doesn’t want to sell. Well, this author is not going to take no for an answer.

This is one of the many movies and shows on Netflix dropping on Friday, Nov. 26.

Dig Deeper: The Disappearance of Birgit Meier

For those who prefer a true-crime documentary, Netflix always has you covered. This week, it’s all about Dig Deeper: The Disappearance of Birgit Meier.

Birgit went missing in 1989. Her case was plagued by police missteps for years, but her brother wasn’t willing to give up the search. This docuseries follows his tireless quest to gain closure and the truth.

Elves

Horror during the holiday season is a favorite for many. Netflix isn’t disappointing with the last suggestion on our list. It’s a TV horror series titled Elves, and I’m sure the title gives a little bit away.

The Danish horror follows two siblings who head to a remote island where elves live. These aren’t the cute elves you’ve read about in Christmas stories. They’re connected to the original lore, and the siblings will need to stick together to survive.
