Is Joe Exotic in Tiger King season 2?

Tiger King season 2 was released on Wednesday, Nov. 17 on Netflix, and many were excited to dive back into the bizarre world of big cats, mysteries and grudges. But with Joe Exotic currently serving time behind bars for the attempted “murder-for-hire” of long-term rival, animal rights activist Carole Baskin, fans are also questioning whether the self-proclaimed king of big cats appears in the second installment or not.

Is Joe Exotic in Tiger King season 2?

Fans of the show will notice a big difference to the cast being interviewed in season 2, because noticeably absent is Carole Baskin. Joe Exotic does appear briefly in the sequel, but being behind bars made it pretty difficult for him to be as involved as the first season.

As for Carole Baskin, according to multiple outlets, the CEO of Big Cat Rescue “refused to participate” in the sequel after she criticized Netflix for the portrayal of her in season 1. We only get to see her in season 2 through clips from her YouTube channel.

Will Joe Exotic return for Tiger King season 3?

Currently, there is no news on Tiger King being renewed for a third season. So we’re not sure whether Joe Exotic will appear in season 3.

While season 2 ended with the possibility of Joe getting a re-sentencing, possibly leaving room for another season, we’re not sure there’s really much of a story left to tell, and with Joe’s medical condition worsening every day, we’re not sure that the big cat lover would medically really be up for appearing on season 3 even if it was approved and ordered by Netflix.

The former zookeeper revealed earlier in November via Twitter that he was battling an aggressive form of prostate cancer. And according to TMZ, on Tuesday, Nov. 16, the 58-year-old was transferred to FMC Butner in North Carolina to receive treatment for his illness while in federal custody.
