Netflix has a wide variety of movies and shows to keep you entertained, no matter your interest. A recent new release series, Cowboy Bebop is an adaptation of a top-rated Japanese anime series. One of the actors in this series is John Cho, and there are several other of his movies and shows available on Netflix.
Cho is well known as “MILF Guy #2” from the American Pie movies, in which he coined the term MILF. He is also known as Harold Lee in the Harold & Kumar films, and he played Hikaru Sulu in the Star Trek reboot film series.
But he has starred in many other films and shows during his career. Early in his career, he starred in Better Luck Tomorrow (2002), Shopping for Fangs (1997), and Yellow (1998). Then onto the indie film Columbus and next a thriller called Searching, a film where he became the first Asian American to headline a mainstream thriller.
He has roles in many TV shows as well, including The Men’s Room, Ugly Betty, Sleepy Hallow, and Difficult People. Let’s take a look at the movies and shows on Netflix starring John Cho.

Cowboy Bebop
The newest feature on Netflix starring Cho is Cowboy Bebop. This series is an adaptation of a hugely popular Japanese anime series of the same name.
It is a western sci-fi set in 2071 where Cho plays Spike Spiegel, a bounty hunter with his partners Jet Black (Mustafa Shakir) and Faye Valentine (Daniella Pineda). They are hired to chase down the most wanted criminals in the solar system.
A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas
The Harold & Kumar movies are sure to make you laugh if you enjoy raunchy comedy films. A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas is available to stream on Netflix.
This is the third installment in the Harold & Kumar series of movies where Cho picks up his role as Harold with Kal Penn once again playing Kumar. Neil Patrick Harris joins them as a fictionalized version of himself. The friends reunite after escaping from Guantanamo Bay in the last film. The friends haven’t talked for two years and thought Harris had died seven years prior.
Wish Dragon
The Netflix original animated film Wish Dragon follows Din, a working-class college student who meets up with Long, an all-powerful grant-wishing dragon. The pair journey through Shanghai on a hilarious quest to find Din’s childhood friend Lina.
The film stars Jimmy Wong, John Cho, Constance Wu, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Jimmy O. Yang, Aaron Yoo, Will Yun Lee, and Ronny Chieng.
American Reunion
The fourth film in the American Pie franchise, American Reunion sees Cho take up his role as “Milf Guy #2,” but this film actually gives him a name: John.
This time the class of 1999 is reuniting to attend their class reunion, which John has planned. Although some things have changed, most have stayed the same within the main group of friends.
Jim, Oz, Kevin, and Finch meet at a bar where Stifler shows up, and things just snowball from there. Keeping with what fans love about the American Pie movies sex, booze, parties, etc., this installment stays true to form.
Over the Moon
Another animated Netflix original film, Over the Moon is about an adventurous girl named Fei Fei (Cathy Ang), who builds a rocket ship so that she can prove that a legendary Moon Goddess does exist.
During her travels, she discovers a new land of fantastical creatures as she explores the legend of Chang’e (Phillipa Soo), goddess of the moon. Chang’e sacrificed her earthy romance with Houyi so she could have immortality among the stars.
Cho voices Fei Fei’s father, Ba Ba, and is joined by Ken Jeong, Ruthie Ann Miles, Margaret Cho, and Sandra Oh.
Total Recall
The sci-fi film Total Recall is based on the ’90s movie of the same name, inspired by a short story from 1966 titled We Can Remember It for You Wholesale by Philip K. Dick.
Douglas Quaid (Colin Farrell) is just an average guy who needs a break from the humdrum of his life. He visits Rekall, a company that boasts of being able to turn dreams into reality. He decides to go through with the procedure, but something goes wrong, and he becomes a wanted man.
The film stars Kate Beckinsale, Jessica Biel, Bryan Cranston, Bokeem Woodbine, John Cho, and Bill Nighy.
