Mixtape cast: Who’s in the new Netflix movie?

Netflix has a massive list of great new releases for December. One of the highly anticipated films, Mixtape, will be released early in the month. This movie is one of the non-holiday features coming in December that will be a fun family watch.

The film was directed by Valerie Weiss, who has directed episodes of Outer Banks and Prodigal Son. The screenplay was written by Stacey Menear (The Boy) and Alice Wu (The Half of It). Mixtape is a film that will pull at your heartstrings but with comedic elements thrown in to lighten the mood.

The story follows a 12-year-old girl Beverly Moody (Gemma Brooke Allen), orphaned at an even younger age. On the eve of Y2K, she discovers a mixtape created by her parents when they were teens. Beverly lives with her grandmother Gail (Julie Bowen), who finds it difficult to discuss her deceased daughter. When Beverly finds the tape, she feels she will finally get to know more about her parents. She sets out to find each song and the tape, and through the songs her parents listened to, she will discover more about who they were.
