Red Notice is the newest action-comedy flick from Netflix available to stream on Nov. 12, 2021.  The feature film is one of several Netflix originals with a preceding theatrical release, so now’s the time to decide if you’ll be watching in a theater or on the couch!

Depending on where you live, you might have to stay up late for the Red Notice release time.

Netflix pulled out all the stops to get their hands on a trio of Hollywood heavy-hitters: Dwayne Johnson as John Hartley, Ryan Reynolds as Nolan Booth, and Gal Gadot as The Bishop. Secondary members of the cast include Ritu Arya, Chris Diamantopoulos, and Ivan Mbakop.

Red Notice appeals to action-loving audiences with a strong sense of comedy. It is rated PG-13 in relation to action violence, sexual references, and strong language.

You may recognize the director and writer Rawson Marshall Thurber from his previous action-comedy escapades Central Intelligence and Skyscraper, both starring Dwayne Johnson! Clearly, this director is in his element when it comes to his newest movie.

What is Red Notice about?

For those with questions, the term “red notice” is Interpol code for “a global alert to hunt and capture the world’s most wanted”.

Here is the description Netflix gives for Red Notice:

"An FBI profiler pursuing the world’s most wanted art thief becomes his reluctant partner in crime to catch an elusive crook who’s always one step ahead."

While the synopsis may sound familiar, the cast is what sets the film apart. Dwayne Johnson plays a steelier version of himself as FBI profiler John Hartley, leaving the comedic relief to the lovable Ryan Reynolds as art thief Nolan Booth. The duo faces off against Gal Gadot as The Bishop, a world-class art thief whose cunning is only outmatched by her beauty.

After FBI agent John Hartley is framed by The Bishop, he captures the second most-wanted art thief Nolan Booth. The scorned agent believes that if they work together, Hartley can clear his name, The Bishop will go behind bars, and Booth will claim the top spot of most-wanted art thief in the world.  Can the unlikely duo catch up with The Bishop before she steals Cleopatra’s priceless Eggs?

Red Notice is in theaters now, or you can stream exclusively through Netflix starting Nov. 12.
