Gentefied season 2 is now streaming on Netflix! Fans all over the world are watching the new season of the Netflix original comedy-drama series.

For two seasons, the story of Gentefied has revolved around Pop, played by Joaquín Cosío, Mama Fina’s, and Pop’s status as an undocumented immigrant in the United States.

That story continues throughout Gentefied season 2, which consists of eight episodes. We shared what happens to Pop in Gentefied season 2 below.

Spoilers ahead for Gentefied season 2!

Does Pop get to stay in the US in Gentefied season 2?

It looked bleak for a long time that Pop, aka Casimiro Morales, was going to be able to stay with his family in Gentefied season 2. It was very likely that Pop would be deported in Gentefied season 2.

Thankfully, at the 11th hour, things flip for Pop and the Morales family. During the court proceedings, Pop’s lawyer, Melinna Barragan, played by Melinna Bobadilla, requests character witnesses to buy time for Pop’s visa to get approved. The visa must be approved in order for Pop to apply for his green card.

At the last second, the visa gets approved, and the judge decides against deporting Pop.

In the final scene of the season, we see Pop laying flowers on his father’s grave in Mexico with Chris and Lupe seven months after the hearing, which means that his green card was approved. Pop was able to leave the country and go back to Mexico.

We, then, see Lupe, Chris, and Pop going to get tacos.

So, that’s how Gentefied season 2 ends. It will be interesting to see what it all means for Gentefied season 3.

There’s still so much that we need to see with Pop, Erik and Lidia, Chris and Sarai, and Ana and the rest of the Morales fam in Gentefied season 3.
