6 things you missed in the new Stranger Things season 4 teaser trailer

Netflix shared the new Stranger Things season 4 teaser trailer on Stranger Things Day 2021, and we’re definitely not in Hawkins anymore.

The new Stranger Things season 4 teaser trailer reveals the location of the Byers’ big move. Joyce, Jonathan, Will, and Eleven have settled down in sunny California.

Unfortunately, things don’t appear to be going all that well for Eleven, who is getting bullied at school. And, it looks to get worse when Mike arrives for spring break.

We shared the new Stranger Things season 4 trailer from Netflix below, along with the six things you probably missed in the teaser trailer.

Does Mike visit Eleven for spring break in Stranger Things season 4?

Obviously, Stranger Things season 4 is a spring break season! This is what we’ve been wondering all along, and it appears that the new teaser trailer just confirmed when Stranger Things season 4 will be set.

In the letter to Mike, which sets up this trailer, Eleven mentions 185 days since she last saw Mike. Assuming that the last time they saw each other was when Eleven left Hawkins, we can say with certainty that the new season will be set sometime in March or April 1986.

Remember, the third season took place around July 4, 1985. Then, there was the three-month time jump at the end of the season before the Byers and Eleven moved to California.

It appears, based on what happens after Eleven finishes reading her letter to Mike in the teaser, that Mike joins Eleven and the Byers in California. It’s very much NOT the best spring break ever.

Who is Jonathan’s friend in Stranger Things season 4?

You saw a few characters you didn’t recognize in the new Stranger Things season 4 teaser, including Argyle, played by Eduardo Franco.

We don’t know much about Argyle yet, but we do know that he’s a new friend of Jonathan and that he’s “fun-loving stoner who proudly delivers delicious pizza pies for Surfer Boy Pizza,” according to Stranger Things Twitter.

It also looks like Jonathan has taken up … cough, cough.. a new hobby from the teaser trailer.

Does Eleven get her powers back in Stranger Things season 4?

At the end of Stranger Things season 3, Eleven lost her powers. We see Eleven getting bullied in the Stranger Things season 4 teaser. We know that wouldn’t happen if Eleven had her powers.

We have to assume that Eleven does not have her powers at the beginning of Stranger Things season 4, but I think we’re all expecting Eleven to get her powers back in Stranger Things season 4 at some point.

Based on the new teaser, there are short clips that look to show Eleven getting kidnapped and taken somewhere. We know Dr. Brenner will be back this season, so it could revolve around his return.

In one of the final clips, it looks like Eleven is standing in the middle of the desert. There are bodies all around her, but she’s standing. There’s also a giant explosion.

Now, just seeing that, it strongly points to Eleven getting her powers back and letting those powers fly in the middle of the desert. I have more to this theory, but it sure looks like Eleven is blowing stuff up.

Does Eleven get shot in Stranger Things season 4?

Everything happens so fast at the end of the teaser, but it looks like someone is injured in the back of Argyle’s Surfer Boy Pizza van. We see Jonathan, Will, and Mike in a shootout at different points of the trailer, but they all appear to be in the back of the van. So, someone else is lying in the back of the van. Are they injured? Did they get shot? Is it Eleven?

There’s too much going on to tell exactly what is happening, but this seems very important. Depending on the order all of this happens, there’s a chance that it could be Eleven in the back of the van injured. I hope not, though.

Who sent Joyce the Russian doll?

We don’t see much of Joyce or Murray in the trailer, but they do make quick appearances in the teaser.

In one clip, Joyce is opening and package and pulls out one of those Russian dolls. Who sent this doll? Obviously, it has something to do with Hopper, and it reminds us of one of the first Stranger Things season 4 teasers.

As you may recall, Stranger Things sent a few of these dolls out a while back to fans. When they were opened, a phone number was revealed. When the phone number was called, it was an answering machine for a fishing and tour guide in Alaska, Yuri. Alaska is close to Russia, you know.

Interesting.

Where is Nancy in Stranger Things season 4?

Okay, so this is weird. I thought for sure we’d see Mike and Nancy go to visit Jonathan and Eleven (and Will) in Stranger Things season 4. It makes sense that they’d all go for spring break, right? Especially if Jonathan and Nancy were still dating.

Clearly, Mike goes to visit Eleven. That’s obvious. But, Nancy isn’t in this teaser, which makes me think she stayed back in Hawkins.

We did see Nancy in the third teaser for Stranger Things season 4 in Creel House with Steve, Robin, Lucas, Dustin, and Max.

Do Jonathan and Nancy break up in Stranger Things season 4? We’ll just have to wait and see.

There are still no updates on the Stranger Things season 4 release date. The new season is coming in 2022.
