Stranger Things season 4 is not coming on November 6, 2021

There will be a lot of exciting Stranger Things news and announcements coming on Nov. 6 in celebration of Stranger Things Day 2021; however, one thing fans should not be expecting is the arrival of Stranger Things season 4.

Ahead of our annual celebration of Netflix’s biggest original series, the official Stranger Things account took to Twitter to tease the upcoming festivities with a stunning poster to celebrate the festivities.

Accompanying the poster which threw things back to season 1, the tweet included a tease that “Stranger Things Day returns tomorrow,” which seems to have led to some confusion among fans regarding when exactly the new season might be coming.

Although we’d love to see the highly anticipated new season drop this weekend timed to Stranger Things Day 2021, the new season is not coming to Netflix on Nov. 6 as the tweet was simply designed to tease the arrival of Stranger Things Day, not the new season.

Stranger Things season 4 release date updates

At this time, we’re still awaiting confirmation on when exactly season 4 of Stranger Things will arrive; however, it has been confirmed season 4 will not be released until 2022.

Given production wrapped in September 2021, the absolute earliest the season could drop might be in February 2022 which would be a treat for fans. Unfortunately, it’s likely the season might instead be held until late spring or possibly even early summer.

Considering this is being teased to be the biggest season of the show yet, we imagine post-production might be more extensive than in previous seasons which could lead to at least a few months being needed to finish the series.

While it’s possible Netflix could look to rush it out in February, it’s looking likely season 4 might instead arrive sometime between March and May 2022.

In the meantime, fans can relive seasons 1-3 which are streaming now on Netflix.
