Everyone knows Idris Elba. Not only is he one of the most influential people in the world, but he’s also one of the top 20 highest-grossing actors. He’s an incredible actor, and people are always curious to know what he’s going to star in next.

Elba’s fame didn’t come out of nowhere. He’s been acting since he was in his early 20s, but people didn’t really start knowing his name until he reached his 30s. When he landed a starring role in The Wire in 2002, there began to be a buzz around who he was. He played the role of Russell “Stringer” Bell in the crime drama series, and many people loved his portrayal.

In 2007, Elba had several movies out in theaters, such as Daddy’s Little Girls, 28 Weeks Later and This Christmas. Then in 2008, he starred in the horror movie Prom Night and the crime film RocknRolla. In 2009, he starred in another horror film titled The Unborn, but the movie that everyone wanted to see was Obsessed. In this movie, he was cast opposite of Beyonce. This movie had its cheesy moments, but it was a good movie overall.

Also, in the same year, he was cast in the lead role in the crime drama series Luther. His portrayal in this series won him a Golden Globe award. Of course, by then, everyone knew Idris Elba. He started being cast in films and shows left and right.

Elba’s filmography is pretty long, and more and more films and shows are constantly being added as the years go by. His most recent film just dropped on Netflix on Nov. 3, titled The Harder They Fall, and people can’t stop talking about his amazing performance.
